Romantic Escape...

One of the best experience i had have in Bali was my water rafting trip. Previously Ive mentioned that its one of the outdoor activities that I have always wanted to try but either didn't have a chance to (not available in Singapore, no company to go with) or simply I've no guts to get down to it. Oh and not to forget, the sun has always been my biggest enemy!
Curious to find out what are the other activities that I'm referring to above? Well one of it is bungee jumping.
... yes... for someone that has acrophobia, this is one activities that is placed at the extreme end of the scale.

Alright back to the topic of my water rafting trip; we were traveling down the Ayung river, it's surrounded by a spectacular tropical rain forest and a breathtaking waterfalls of Ubah. Along the 11 kilometre descent, it is filled with 25 class II and III rapids.
I sat at the back of the boat beside the guide, I think the back seat allows for a more adventurous ride, given that the guide was the person enabling the different stunts thus sitting beside him have made me experienced the impact of his actions. He displayed stunts such as the backward flow down the rapids and the spin (where the boat spin round and round down the river). I really enjoyed myself despite that i have gotten drenched half a dozen time. There was once when he directed us backward into the side of a hill and i fell over into the river from the impact. In the river, i lost gripped of one of my slipper and i was desperately trying to grab it in the rushing water instead of taking the safety precaution of lying flat with my feet facing the descending river flow. The water was cooling and to me it didn't felt like a failure to fall in, more so it was part of the package of an adventure.

We made a pit stop at the foot of the waterfall of Ubah. It a pity that my group didn't bring along a camera coz we were afraid that our camera will fall into the river and spoil it; which happened to one of our colleague's. But we managed to snap a few shots with another colleague's camera.
During the 15mins break, I walked to the foot of the waterfall and went under the gushing water; the feeling was so refreshing and the water was so cold.
I believe that everyone should try this once in their live. Amazing feeling.

To get to the whole point of this entry, on my journey down the river, we chanced upon this utopia villa Kupu Kupu Barong Villa. It hangs out at the top of the mountain of the luscious rain forest; the route to this villa is path by a hanging bridge of wooden planks. It was designed to embrace the nature attributes of the river valley. The guide has mentioned to us that this is one of Bali's top-notched villa that has housed many rich and famous like Mariah Carrey , Sting etc. I wish that I will have a chance in the future to escape to such a beautiful resort with a paranomic view of one of my favorite thing on earth, mother nature. Away from the city, where I can be encapsulated by beauty to its rawest state.
As pictures paints a thousand word and i could only do so in hundreds, I let the pictures blow you away instead.
